Vitamin

The sleek designs combined with innovative combinations offered by UK-based company Vitamin caught my attention. Its website promises a new on-line store with its latest range of products within the next few days. In the meantime, you can purchase products from its original line which include Tab B, a plant holder with a subtle built-in ashtray (for secret smokers) and the I.V. Plant Pot, a self-watering pot equipped with a medical I.V.
If Mother Nature's dead, which she very well probably is with the invention of such products, she'd be turning over in her grave.
If not, she's definitely crying.

Iris, what do you mean?
Personally, I think more people would buy plants if they cheekily conceal an ashtray or water themselves. People are lazy and have their vices.
Now, if someone used that IV drip on their arm instead of on the greenery for another of their vices - that's cause to cry and roll in a grave.

Iris, I don't understand what you think the problem with these products. Please elaborate.

there's something called RAIN that was invented to water plants.
for house plants, i use a water glass. it's not chic, but it does the trick.
actually, if you want to ash, why don't people just ash in the potting soil?
i'm just not a big fan of creating more things for impractical unnecessary reasons. like the electric can opener. or the clapper. ("clap on!! clap off!! why don't you get off your fat lazy ass and turn the light off yourself?")
yes. i AM a hater.

I don't think there's anything wrong with creating products that aren't crucial to everyday life. There are some products that that fill a void; there are some products that make life easier for people; and then there are products that are just fun. What's wrong with having a little fun?
I know you're going to say, "but it encourages people to be lazy!" But I don't think it has that much power.
I won't be buying either of these products (they're simply out of my price range) but I appreciate the creative design that went into them. That's really what it's about.
The Clapper was a kitchy little product that may have made some people a little lazier, but it hasn't started a clapping revolution. People still turn of their lights the traditional way, by flicking a switch. Nonetheless, it was an innovative invention and I support innovation.
